Western Riding Experience Day

A Western Experience Day at Valley View Ranch is a great way to be introduced to the sport of western riding and experience riding a western trained American Quarter Horse. OUTLINE ITINERARY 10am - You will have a welcome drink while you meet the team and watch a demonstration of western riding. This will be followed by a visit to the barn where you will meet all the horses. You will learn to tack up western style, and ride for about an hour under expert instruction from our resident trainer Bruce Lawrence. 1pm - After untacking, you will have lunch in our western saloon, where you will watch some videos of western riding competitions, with explanations and questions answered by Bruce. You can even have a bit of fun having a go at lassoing a dummy! 2pm - In the afternoon there will be another opportunity to tack up and you will ride for another hour, followed by tea & cake at the end of the day. Minimum rider age is 8. Maximum rider weight 15 stone. No previous riding experience necessary - our super lesson horses are great with complete beginners or international high flyers! Riding is usually arrranged in groups of 2, allowing plenty of individual attention tailored to the level of rider. Non rider places also available at a cost of £60 for the day - just contact us to book. Watch the demo, participate in the stable tour, enjoy a delicious lunch and refreshments and take the opportunity to learn lots about western riding throughout the day.
